God
We believe that God is the Creator of the universe. He is the Creator of mankind, our Heavenly Father. He is the Holy Judge of all that man is and does. He loves His creation with a jealous love, and laments the fact that our choice of sin has disrupted our fellowship with Him. (Genesis 1:1, Acts 17:24-28, Hebrews 11:3, John 3:16)
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the only Son of the living God; that He is God in the flesh. We believe that Jesus lived a sinless life, that he died on the cross to pay the price for our sin and that he rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and will one day return to earth and reign forever as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. (John 3:16, John 19:19, John 1:14, Colossians 2:19, I John 1:1-3, Matthew 1:18, Luke 1:26-38, I Corinthians 15:1-8, Romans 8:3-4, I Thessalonians 4:13-18)
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit. He is God as Spirit, who now resides in the lives of those who by voluntary submission have called Jesus Lord. We believe the Holy Spirit resides within the church, empowering her to be a witness of God’s love and forgiveness found in His Son. (John 14:26, Romans 8:2-6, 11, I Corinthians 3:16, I Corinthians 2:10, Romans 15:18-19)
Trinity
We believe in one God who exists in three persons; the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19, II Corinthians 3:14, I Peter 1:1-2)
The Church
We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, on earth consisting of all Christians everywhere. The Church is empowered by the Holy Spirit and exists to evangelize the lost and edify the saved. (Matthew 28:18-20, Matthew 16:16-19, I Corinthians 12:12-27, Ephesians 5:31-32)
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is infallibly the Word of God, divinely inspired, and faithfully transmitted from generation to generation by the people of God and the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Bible is authoritative today in all things spiritual. We believe that there is a distinction between the Old and New Testament. The Old Testament was given for the building of a people, then a nation, and finally for all mankind. When God sent His only Son to this world, He fulfilled all the requirements of the Old Testament Law that demanded an offering of shed blood to forgive sins. When Jesus died on the cross, He satisfied the Law’s demand for justice, concerning sin. Since the time of Jesus, we have been called to live by faith under a new covenant, the New Testament. We no longer practice the old covenant religion of obedience to laws as a means of acceptance by God. We, therefore, call ourselves the New Testament Church, because we hold the New Covenant as our roll for faith and practice. (II Timothy 3:16, Mark 12:36, Acts 1:16, I Corinthians 2:12-13, I Peter 1:20-21, Matthew 5:17, Isaiah 40:8, Hebrews 4:12, Romans 6:14, Galatians 5:18)
Salvation
We believe that all have sinned and as a result are separated from God. Forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are available only to those who trust Christ as their Savior and Lord. To those who choose to reject Jesus Christ as Lord, there is eternal separation and condemnation because of their sins and God’s justice We believe the bible teaches that salvation and forgiveness of sins is achieved only by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ, and that everyone receives God’s grace by putting their faith in Christ, repenting of sin, confessing Christ as Lord, and being immersed in baptism into Christ, but that none of these is sufficient in and of itself for the assurance of salvation. (John 3:16-18, Acts 4:12, Romans 3:21-26, Romans 5:15-17, Romans 8:1-4, Mark 16:15-16, Revelation 20:15, Matthew 26:28, Romans 5:9, Ephesians 2:8-9, I Peter 1:18-19, I John 1:7, Acts 2:37-39, Galatians 3:11-14, 26-29, Colossians 2:9-12)
